Birthday Party FAQs
What time should guests arrive?
Guests should arrive 10-20 minutes before the public skating session starts. If your party is during the normal 2:30pm session, we recommend you (the host) arrive at 2pm and guests arrive between 2:10pm and 2:20pm. This allows time for check in, skate rentals, and getting skaters ready so your party can start on time.
How long is the party?
Birthday parties typically last about 3 hours total. This includes skating time and time in the party room. Exact timing may vary slightly depending on ice availability. Skating time is during the public skating session (generally 2:30 to 4:30pm) and it cannot be extended past that time. Total skating time will depend on the age of the skaters and your personal preference. For example, younger skaters will most likely not be able to skate for more than an hour without the break for food. Older skaters sometimes wish to skate the full two hours before having the food. All timing should be confirmed with your host when you arrive! You may have the room until 5:30pm latest.
Can parents stay and watch?
Yes. Parents are welcome to stay and watch from the lobby or rink viewing areas. Anyone going onto the ice must be wearing skates. We do not allow shoes on the ice.
Do parents or siblings need to pay?
Only those included in the party package receive skating admission and rentals. You may include anyone you'd like in your guest count, but if you do not want to pay for them as a part of your party package, additional skaters, including siblings or parents who want to skate, must purchase regular admission and skate rental at the front desk.
What ages are birthday parties best for?
Our skating birthday parties are best suited for children ages 4 and up. Beginner skaters are welcome. Package 1 includes a short group lesson to help new skaters feel comfortable on the ice.
What should kids wear to skate?
All skaters should wear:
Long pants & warm layers
Socks
Gloves or mittens recommended
Helmets are optional but highly encouraged for younger or beginner skaters.
Can we bring our own cake and decorations?
Yes. You are welcome to bring your own cake, cupcakes, and decorations. Confetti or glitter is prohibited. If you would like to use your own tablecloths and party supplies, please let us know in advance so we can have the room ready for you!
Is outside food allowed?
Cake and birthday desserts are allowed. Any additional outside food must be discussed with our event coordinator in advance.
What happens if we are late?
Late arrivals may result in reduced skating or party room time. Party end times cannot be extended due to scheduling and ice availability.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend booking at least 3 to 4 weeks in advance, especially for weekends during the fall and winter months.
